What changes can we expect from such a world?

From the time we are born, many restrictions are imposed on us by our families and society. But, why do we need such restrictions? Don’t we belong to the same species? We all had a common ancestor that migrated to different parts of Asia and Africa. A world with borders incites greed for power and supremacy. It makes people feel insecure about themselves so that they can reach the top rung of the ladder. I expect that a world without boundaries will end racism and other forms of discrimination.

A world without boundaries might help to tackle a problem affecting humankind collectively. The social divide between the rich and the poor may not be there. Collective effort can tackle diseases, natural calamities, and hunger problems fast and effectively, according to Why we need a world without borders. In a world without countries and borders, only continents may be present. A single landmass is split into smaller bits. How many of us have wished to travel to every nook and corner of the world? But, many reasons stopped us from doing that. The main reasons being money and family. A world without boundaries if allow each person, travel to any place of their choice in the world. Visas and expensive taxes will be absent. All of the world’s currencies will be the same with the same value. Who knows!? It might campaign for world peace. Imagine, being in such a world!

But will it happen in reality?

On the flip side, a world without countries and boundaries may be far-fetched. The reason is that we as humans are selfish. The world will become more chaotic. “We, humans, identify boundaries and countries as statutory regulations”, according to Eve Whittaker, Thai Life | Imagine: A World Without Boundaries. Boundaries and countries are required for maintaining harmony in the world. Boundaries instill fear in the masses. Political leaders instill fear through their ideas and ideologies. Religious leaders instill fear in the masses through their religion and agendas. A world without boundaries and countries may allow crime rates to increase. Maintaining law and order becomes difficult.

A world with or without boundaries and countries can be debatable. This scenario is a double-edged sword, each having pros and cons. Ultimately it comes down to human nature. Change is always hard for us. Are we better off with a world with boundaries and countries than a one without it, we can only imagine. But for now, we live in a world with boundaries and countries and must make the best use out of it.
